One focus of the Chris Mikesell Foundation is to provide assistance to people in desperate need around the world. With a $2,000 grant to the Compassionate Consultation Initiative Project, the Foundation is helping to give basic survival skills to people in poverty in Zimbabwe.

One of the CCIP projects is a skills training center. It offers training opportunities for dress making, tailoring, carpentry, fruit and vegetable canning, toll making and repairs, bookkeeping, animal husbandry and farming, metal work, and craft work.

Another project that is gaining some traction in making the people more independent and self-sustaining is the farming of sunflowers to make cooking oil and other products.
